Our Mission

ALC is America's Advocate for Better Access, Health, and Productivity on Public Lands. 

Our mission is to ensure that public lands are lawfully managed in a way that supports healthy air, water and wildlife, abundant outdoor recreation, and safe, vibrant communities. 

Our History

ALC is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization founded in 2012 by a handful of western county commissioners.  Our dedicated leadership team has volunteered thousands of hours to catalyze a national movement and coalesce a nation-wide network. Since our inception, our movement has gained the support of over 1,000 public officials, numerous organizations, and tens of thousands of Americans.

Our Funding

ALC is predominantly funded by its members through annual membership dues.

Our Affiliate - American Lands Council Foundation

Our affiliate, American Lands Council Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that focuses on research and education related to public lands, natural resources, state sovereignty, and related laws and history. ALCF is funded primarily by tax deductible, charitable donations.
